The role

You'll be part of a team of Agile Delivery Managers, playing a key role in ensuring that Sedex's in-house digital products come to market on time, on budget and to a high standard — and that they do what our customers need them to do. The Agile Delivery Manager works closely with Product, Design, Engineering and the business, driving key initiatives efficiently from inception through to market, while ensuring lean, agile practices are followed throughout.

The delivery manager role at Sedex is well established, and respected. You will manage the delivery of strategic development within a value stream, across two or more teams. At the same time, you will work closely with other key stakeholders in your value stream to author the product strategy and roadmap, ensure that it is delivered on-plan and taken to market, and that value strategic goals are met.

Key responsibilities

· Play a key role in the governance of your value stream as a member of a cross-functional working group, helping develop the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring a continuous flow of value for teams to work on, and sharing responsibility for hitting strategic value-stream goals

· Own the end-to-end product delivery plan for your value stream and teams, driving the Opportunity-to-Solution pipeline forward — making sure discovery kicks off on time, value hypotheses are tested through experimentation, and solutions are brought to market iteratively, in a controlled and predictable way

· Champion the effective use of AI across the delivery lifecycle, helping teams identify where AI can improve speed, quality or decision-making, while managing the risks that come with AI-enabled ways of working

· Chair working group and bridge crew meetings, ensuring that the ToR is followed, understood by all participants, and that outcomes are assigned, documented and followed up

· Provide continuous, reliable, data-driven status reporting and forecasting on solution development, including cost and delivery

· Manage risks, issues, dependencies, actions and decisions across your teams and across value streams – take care of escalations and urgent decision-making as and when needed

· Continuously monitor and improve flow across your value stream and teams using flow metrics, quickly identifying and removing impediments, and helping teams understand how and where to optimise

· Ensure Jira projects are well maintained and up to date, providing drill-down visibility from Opportunity to Story and enabling reliable delivery metrics

· Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to ensure work is iterative, prioritised, appropriately sized, and has clearly defined goals and value propositions

· Coach teams to become autonomous and to continuously improve their agile ways of working

· Where needed, support less mature teams in adopting agile practices — for example, helping them run ceremonies like retrospectives, dailies and sprint planning — with a view to enabling full autonomy over time

· Help teams become more product-orientated, and ensure strong communication and collaboration across all roles and disciplines — for example, between Product and Engineering

· Contribute to the continuous improvement of both delivery and product development processes

Knowledge, skills & experience

· At least three years' experience in a product and technology delivery role of some kind

· "Profit-centre thinking" — always business and product focused, while understanding the need to balance the constraints and needs of technology and engineering

· Hands-on, and prepared to roll up your sleeves and act as a project manager when needed

· Strong communication skills, with the ability to bridge business stakeholders, product and engineering

· Confident and credible engaging with business stakeholders, up to and including Exec level

· A solid understanding of how to apply agile methods and best practice at every level of the value stream — from idea/opportunity pipeline and governance, through experimentation and solution development, to go-to-market and value realisation

· Naturally methodical and organised, with an eye for detail and the ability to plan complex initiatives

· High-level working knowledge of software development, technology and high-throughput, AI-enabled SDLC — for example, able to help teams manage and mitigate AI-driven cognitive overload
