Irene Gari-Chia, Consulting Solutions Manager, UK (Started as Sales Development Representative)
I started my career at Sedex as a Sales Development Representative, drawn by the fast-paced environment, but I quickly discovered my true passion for business development in consulting. I was excited about scoping out unique projects and creating customised solutions for each client. When I expressed interest in transitioning, my former manager fully supported and encouraged me, even advocating for me during the hiring process.
Now, as the Consulting Solutions Manager, I shape the consulting strategy, collaborate with different teams, and drive the success of consulting projects. Looking back, I'm incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement I received from my manager, colleagues, and the talent acquisition team.
Olivia Thomson, Communications Manager, US (Hired in the UK then relocated to the US)
When the opportunity came up for my partner to move to New York, I was delighted Sedex could support me to go too! Knowing we want to build our presence in North America helped with transitioning my role to NYC, where I am also closer to my line manager – reflecting the global nature of our business. The Sedex team, from HR to my line manager, were all positive, supportive, and flexible through some challenging personal circumstances.
Rebekah Pell, Head of Customer Operations, UK (Started as Membership Executive)
When I started at Sedex, I worked in an administrative support role for the buyer member teams. Within a fairly short period, my manager put me forward for the opportunity to work on a bespoke project with a key customer. This experience allowed me to collaborate closely with senior teams and develop my communication, training, and project management skills.
I’ve been fortunate to have managers who encouraged my growth, helping me move into more senior, customer-facing roles. Over time, I have gained valuable experience working on strategy with senior leadership, and now I lead multiple teams within Customer Operations. My journey at Sedex has been both exciting and rewarding, as I have grown with and within the company. The learning never stops and I am excited to see what the future holds.
